1936 NFL Detroit Lions Football 7 Signed Newspaper Pages 23 Signatures JSA
Perhaps the most iconic newspaper ever released regarding American Sports, this newspaper has been seen by but a handful of people in 75 years. The original which was used for this reproduction is one of only 2 known complete examples. An extensive effort went in to tracking down both halves of this Detroit Free Press (April 19th 1936) in good enough condition to make this replica. It shows at a single glance, the most famous of the athletes regarding this "City of Champions" sports season of 1935-1936. All 3 teams (Tigers, Lions & Red Wings) team photos are featured along with a very young Joe Louis, Gar Wood, Walter Hagen, Eddie Tolan, and Dick Degener among others. Gar Wood's famous "Miss America X" is shown with the words "City of Champions" above it. Each poster is individually numbered up to 2000 and the number you receive is based on the numbers available (they are sold in order). As of this listing on 12/8/10, number 338 is next one to be sold. This is an absolute must have for any afficianado of Detroit Sports. Each poster is mailed in a poster tube and fits in an 18"x 24" frame.
I've been a football fan almost as long as I've been a baseball fan. Started out with the Minnesota Vikings during the 80s and 90s. Then moved to Virginia so adopted the Washington Redskins. Now I'm in Wyoming and so the Denver Broncos are my team.In this blog I cover all football, but with an emphasis on those three teams.Kindle blogs are fully downloaded onto your Kindle so you can read them even when you're not wirelessly connected. And unlike RSS readers which often only provide headlines, blogs on Kindle give you full text content and images, and are updated wirelessly throughout the day.
